Teriyaki Skirt Steak Bowls: Weeknight Flavor, Zero Mess

Teriyaki Skirt Steak Bowls: Weeknight Flavor, Zero Mess

Dinner Should Feel Easy — and a Little Smarter

Some meals are worth a little extra love, and this is one of them. Our Teriyaki Skirt Steak Bowl brings together big, bold flavor — tender steak, charred peppers, and that sticky-sweet glaze that makes every bite hit just right.

It’s comforting, colorful, and just adventurous enough to break your weeknight routine. And when you serve it up in your CaliBowl, you can toss, mix, and dig in without worrying about spills or mess — just good food made smarter.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb skirt steak
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup shishito peppers
  • Everything bagel seasoning (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • ½ yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar (optional, for brightness)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Salt + black pepper to taste
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

1. Marinate the Steak

In your CaliBowl, combine skirt steak with teriyaki sauce and a dash of soy sauce.
Let it marinate at least 20 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

2. Grill the Steak

Heat your grill (or grill pan) on high.
Cook the steak for about 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.

3. Sauté the Veggies

In a pan, heat olive or sesame oil over medium-high heat.
Add garlic, ginger, and onion — sauté until fragrant.
Add bell peppers and season with soy sauce, rice vinegar, salt, pepper, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes (if you like a little kick).
Stir-fry until tender-crisp.

4. Char the Shishitos

Air-fry (or pan-blister) shishito peppers on high heat until slightly charred.
Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning and a pinch of sea salt.

5. Assemble the Bowl

Start with a base of warm white rice.
Layer your sautéed veggies, sliced teriyaki steak, and shishito peppers.
Drizzle a little extra teriyaki sauce, then top with green onions and sesame seeds.

6. Serve + Enjoy

Mix, scoop, and enjoy straight from your CaliBowl — no spills, no mess, all flavor.
